Writing Numbers 1 to 100
Welcome to the journey of learning to write numbers from 1 to 100! This is a very important skill for everyone. Numbers help us count things, tell time, and understand the world around us.
What are the numbers?
Numbers are symbols or words that indicate counting or position. Numbers such as 1, 2 and 3 indicate small quantities or "amounts."
Counting from 1 to 10
Let's start with the basics. Here are the numbers from 1 to 10:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
When we count, we start at 1 and move forward one digit each time:
1 + 1 = 2 2 + 1 = 3 3 + 1 = 4 4 + 1 = 5 5 + 1 = 6 6 + 1 = 7 7 + 1 = 8 8 + 1 = 9 9 + 1 = 10

After every set of ten numbers, we start a new set. Here's what this looks like with some examples:

Understanding the pattern
When writing numbers, it is important to understand the pattern. In each set of ten, the starting digit changes as you count upward:
10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100
For each set:
- 1 to 10 - starts with "1"
- 11 to 20 - starts with "2"
- 21 to 30 - starts with "3"
- And this pattern continues
Tens and ones
Every number has a "tens" and a "units" place:
45 = 4 tens + 5 units 67 = 6 tens + 7 units
This understanding helps a lot in counting and writing numbers.
